Scream VI Fan Event Santa Monica

I had the opportunity to check out the Scream VI Fan Event that was in Santa Monica the weekend before the film released. My love of horror films really started at around age 10 and that was the year that Scream came out. Of course this means that Scream holds a very special place in my heart. I was watching Tale from the Crypt and other stuff on cable before I turned 10 but Scream was the first horror film I saw in theatres. It really solidified my love for slashers.

The event was in an unused store front in the Promenade in Santa Monica. I am sad the Promenade used to be a very busy place it’s crazy to see how places change over the years. You could see if from anywhere on the street Ghostface stares at you from the wall.

There were two lines, one set up for those with RSVP’s and one for stand by. Honestly if you didn’t have an RSVP you still got in pretty quick most of the day. I went through 3 different times to try to take as many photos as I could. They let in about 20 people at a time.

You walked into the bodega from the film. Inside the bodega there were so many easter eggs. I found more each time I spent time in the bodega which was my favorite part of the event. You had about 5 minutes to walk around and check everything out. I added photos of most of the easter eggs that I found I bet I missed some. Once the 5 minutes is up the lights flicker and the guy behind the counter tells the group that they’ve received a call and to go out the back door. We were all pushed out the backdoor into a hallway with projection screens and Ghostface starts talking. Its a two minute speech about how he’s in NYC and the subway isn’t safe, while the projection screens make it look as those we were standing in a subway train car.

The first time I did it I stood in the middle. The second time I was told to be at the front so I stood at the front and when the train stopped and the doors opened Ghostface was standing at the end of the next hallway we were to walk down and we watches us and then walks away. We follow him into the next room. The next room is full of memorabilia from all the Scream films and Stab posters and merch.

There are so many things to see the tv that killed Stu, Billy’s Ghostface outfit, the weapons that killed different characters and these gorgeous drawings of lots of different characters from the past films. You have five minutes to walk around look at everything and take pictures. At the end of the five minutes they usher you out into a hallway of Ghostfaces. That’s the end of the event, in total it took about 15 minutes but there was so much to see that it was worth the long trip to Santa Monica for me.

Next weekend I’m going to the Chain Restaurant Scream Pop Up for the Stabby Meal and I will share pictures form that as well.

Below are a bunch of different photos I took from the event. Do you have a favorite fake product?
